No Pedicure, A Limo, Eden and Costa Rica

So I was supposed to go get a pedicure tonight with my Mommy and Me friends. I was really looking forward to it, and you would be, too, if you had taken a look at my nasty, cracked, dry heels and sadly free-of-polish nails. I was in desperate need. I've been trying to take every spare penny and put it toward paying off some bills (one of the few prerequisites for some other things we want to accomplish in the future) and I would like to toot my own horn and say that I have been doing a great job. My sad, sorry, fall wardrobe speaks volumes to the fact that I haven't been clothes shopping, that's for sure. But I was going to splurge and do the fancy pedicure. Until . . .

Kingston got sick. Again. Fever, lethargy, irritability, irritability, irritability. I had to take off work on Tuesday because he was not well enough to go to daycare. So not only did I miss making any money that day, I still had to pay Ms. Cindy her $40, so essentially I was in the hole at least $40 for the week. Sweet. That is approximately what I would spend on my fancy pedicure. So obviously you see why that wasn't happening.

Kingston is feeling much better now, thanks for asking. My feet are still disgusting, thanks for not holding it against me.

I was also saving a few dollars because I am going to celebrate one of my oldest friend's (in length of time, not age) birthday tomorrow night. Her birthday isn't until the 28th of October-which is one of a handful of birthdays that I will always remember-but she is celebrating this weekend. A bunch of girls are going to go to her house for a girls only party. Complete with a bartender and a personal chef! She lives about 20 minutes away and the girls that live at this end of the beach don't want to have to leave a car there overnight if we eat too much cake and can't drive home. One of my friends has a hookup with a limo driver so we are going to ride to and from Wanchese in a limo!

I am so excited! I haven't seen Brandy in quite some time so I am looking forward to hanging out with her. And eating cake.

Kingston is spending the night at Nana and Grandpa's house so that I can eat as much cake as I want to. Which will only be about 2 pieces. I'm a lightweight!

Happy 32nd Birthday, Brandy! Let's always be friends, 'kay?

My blogging and real-life friend, Eden, has officially moved "home"! I am so excited to have her and her sweet Little Miss around to play with any time we want. Well, not any time. I'm sure there are some times when she won't want to play with us, but you know what I mean.

Welcome home, Eden! We plan to bug you until you wish we'd lose your number. And your email. And your Twitter. And your Facebook. And your blog site. We're just persistent like that.

Guess where Kingston, Nigel and I are going on vacation in January?

Costa Rica.

It has been quite a week for you but as always....you came through it with a smile! Glad you and your friends get a night together to celebrate and Grandpa and I get a night with Kingston. Sounds like a win - win situation!
